THIS. I love the constant assertions of "I know I'm right." Dozens of people have contributed to this thread and said they believe you're wrong, and you basically ignore them in light of your own narcissism. Truly clueless.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

All in the same high school that has the football team? Since when do mentally challenged special needs children attend the public high school? Am I the only one who questions this? I've never heard of this situation before.

Are you serious? My son graduated from and my Daughter now attends a public high school where they have special education classes, as a matter of fact a young lady that lives 2 houses down from me attends 11th grade and she has downs syndrome. At this point your not voicing an opinion, your digging a hole.

What I would like to know is how letting this special angel score a touchdown is mocking him or people with Down Syndrome or the mentally retarded!?! That is truly a warped way of looking at it.

My first cousin's son (RIP) was mentally retarded and he was extraordinarily intelligent. He was a member of local Fire Department and was part of an EMT. He could put a 2500 piece jigsaw puzzle together in less than a half hour. He could do practically anything we "normal" people could do and more. He just had an inability to function in some ways socially. He was given fire fighter of the year once and was relied on by EMS services to do his job just like anyone else. He was however given special dispensation for the things he couldn't do.

I suppose they were mocking him too.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You really have no idea of what you are talking about and are making yourself look like a sociopath and quite the fool.

Jersey MANDATES a free and appropriate education to the age of 21, for all. If all can be mainstreamed and attend the local public elementary and high school, well, that's where they attend school.

Somebody here is clueless on a multitude of topics. Gong. Get this guy off the stage.

This is more exagerated but makes my point.
The mentally challenged are far too often played upon "as an act of kindness".
They appear to enjoy it, but it is easy to see how so wrong it is.
    Please think about it

For someone that claims to love the mentally handicapped, you sure don't know anything about them do you?

They do attend normal high schools, and sorry even some of them are in the "normal" classes depending on what their mental disablities are.

My gf's father also taught classes for the mentally handicapped in a different school district for a # of years and still helps when he can as he finds it rewarding (now a dean of students but misses the kids he worked with because they made a huge impact on him, something I don't think you can say.)

Most Evangelists exploit people. Using the video to try and prove your point is hilarious, as it shows how narrow minded you are. One video is and Evangelist using a Special person for his own gain. The original video is to help the Special person feel great for a moment and the others feel good for doing something nice.

I didn't see a profit being made by the football teams other than team spirit and the lifting of a special persons spirits.

I am now done with anything you have to say as you are blinded by your own stupidity, have nothing useful to add to the discussion, and are so competitive that you can't stop to help another human being.

I want to look you straight in the eye and I want to tell you what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, d-less, hopeless, heartless, fat-****, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey s you are! Hallelujah! Holy S! Where's the Tylenol?

SteveinAZ, Thank you for posting this. Not only am I glad to see we have people in this world that would do something so inspirational but it has reminded me of something I had forgotten.

I was in the Jayteens (teenage version of Jaycees) when I was 15 and we had a chance to go to a week long camp as leaders for mentally challenged adults.

When they showed up in buses we were freeaking but when they boarded to leave there was not a dry eye in the place.

One guy made 4 leaf clover necklaces for everyone which was about 20 people. I have never found even 1 clover but he could spot them like they were 100 dollar bills on the ground.

I've never seen or heard of the mentally challenged attending a regular public school.
Perhaps it hasn't happened in the various places I've lived.
I have seen many special schools and institutions that cater to their special needs.
If integration into the regular public schools happens in your area well I've learned something.
    Ok.

You don't think that last video was exploitive? You think that is acceptable treatment?
    You think it is ok?

I don't. I've been condemned now by posting it as an example of something that I'm against.
But I did it to make a point that many do not get.

It's a FEDERAL LAW. I assume "North of New Orleans" is in America; therefore, it DOES happen in places you've lived.

maybe i'm crazy, but i didn't see wrong in the evangelist sharing in praise with the good peeps. i guess only him judging and forcing his opinion about them only "wanting" or not to get married was flawed. bad move on his part. i wasn't there in person, but to me i was feelin' the love the evengelist was spreading.
