I agree, there are no simple answers to his question or for this hobby.

Yeah, you're a dumbass . It doesn't sound good to his ear and now he's trying to find some answers, there isn't a panacea in this hobby. You are correct in that once you hear it, you know it, but many spend years trying to find it.

The F5 while having decent output was never designed to run large multiple driver speakers.

The speakers in question aren't too difficult of a load either.

Ok, then it's a piece of crap because it sounded like a ****. Except it was a Pass clone not the real thing, IIRC................sheesh you guys want to nit pick every single word in every single sentence. .

Did anyone say Pass on Pass yet?....:D
High power amp with high voltage gain certainly helps for better dynamics at low volume.
Not every amp with enough current to double output when load is halved may not have high voltage gains (e.g. ML2)Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

It's called discussion and in all fairness Brock I have witnessed you do likewise many a time if you disagreed with a statement.:p
Make mine choclate chip.;)
Yep, I'm cool with that..............hence all the smilies. The less Pass people buy the more available for me. So if people don't like it, make fun of it, say because it's low wattage it can't keep up with high watt stuff, isn't dynamic, can't play at lower levels, etc. That just means more for me to choose from on Audiogon :D.
Anyone have a pair of Aleph 60's they want to sell?

You probably misunderstand what people says. Pass Lab's low power Class A SE amps are not meant to play loud. They are quality stuff at affordable price and meant to sounds superb with reasonably efficient speakers. Pass also made the matching preamp for the Aleph series so amps and preamp gain matching isn't an issue.
The issue might arises when people are using different preamp with mismatch impedance but sound like you don't have any issue with GFP750.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

Mega, no disrespect to you, but I'm the last one that needs a lesson on NP gear or his design philosophy. I'm saying that in a nice way, not trying to be snotty about it.
The Alpeh P is a great pre-amp but the 750 is close enough to the "P" for me to save the extra $1K and I like tubes anyway at the pre-amp position
Pass w/ a tube pre is like fine wine and fine chocolate paired together for a most indulgent listening session.
I alos disagree that the load on an amp like the Aleph needs to be efficient because per NP's statement. The amp actually prefers more difficult loads. But I am splitting hairs again and just having a nice discussion, not arguing.

You forgot to add at it's price point . How did we get on a discussion about the 750 here? Isn't there a thread for that already? I never mentioned the 750 until Mega brought it up and stated Pass gear, since it's low powered and SE Class A, has impedance matching issues. How the hell that relates, I don't know :)
I'm a little punchy at work today and I really don't want to work, I'd rather talk audio.

Between GFP750 and Aleph P, I place my money on P as long as I use any Aleph series amp. I know it's a difficult concept to grasp since they are made to match each other.
By the way, there are two kinds of difficult loads, right? There are the ones with low efficiency / sensitivity requiring high power at easy load impedance. They demands voltage gains.
And then the is another kind that are low load impedance and low efficiency. This requires more current gains at low load than higher voltage gains.
Now about GFP750, I am not saying it's bad. It's meant to be awesome with some GFA5802 and 5800.
