I was at Best Buy yesterday shopping and looked at that Tv. It has a very nice picture but lacks detail in the dark/shaded areas. Maybe not a big deal in your house by itself but, in the store they had a kuro on one side and a v25 series panny on the other you do indeed notice its flaws. The size was amazing.

Wow, they still have that Kuro. I have an 50" Lg Infinia PK-750 plasma
now, but I looking for Larger screen 58" to 63"

While at BB last week looking at audio, this TV had the most stunning picture I've ever seen. Just incredible! They were showing Dark Knight on Bluray.

Did anyone find any deals on these 3D Plasmas????

I guess with all the bad rep 3d's gotten, they really weren't pushing it for black friday. Seemed like the super deals were on smaller sets 40" and less. Still, I would have thought they'd at least put something more than a half hearted effort during black friday.

I went to Bestbuy here in bay area a few times this week and decided on the Panasonic 58" Plasma after comparing it Samsung 58" side by side at the store.
for $2799.00, I got the 58" Panasonic, the blu-ray player (3D), Avatar movie and extra pair of glasses (3d package) for a total of 3 glasses which is just perfect for my family!

The colors and 3D (Avatar movie) was very good and very comparable to Samsung. But the colors seemed slightly better with Panasonic and as I am putting this in family room, I thought with the ambient light it is better with Panasonic.

Note, I have a home theater room with 105" diagonal screen and yamaha 1080i projector (bought a few years ago). So, this is my second home theater theater in family room for my daughter .. I think I need to update the home theater next year with a 1080p projector that meets the Yamaha project qualities.

Honeslty if I was going to buy one of these sets , going against my better judgement on Samsung , I would get the Samsung Plasma. I feel it has the best picture by far and style is a no contest.
I feel the picture quality of the panasonic is slipping , I just did a few of the VT 58 and 65 inch models and left disappointed . Even 3D was not all that great. It looked pasty not to mention I'm so no fan of 3D and switching between top and bottom , side by side , auto and Native. Screw all that if your going to have 3D make the Auto mode actually be "Auto" It doesn't work.

Dollar to Dollar the Samsung is a better Tv IMO.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time.

You can not go wrong with either set. The are so close in pq that you probably couldn't tell if both were calibrated correctly.

To say one is a lot better then the other wouldnt' be correct.

Both have amazong PQ and both are great sets.

Some sitea will say the VT series is the best and some will say the Samsung C800 is the best. But most sites state the VT is that good. I have seen both and both are great sets.

3D on the VT series is by far the best is Have seen. Just flat out amazing 3D PQ.

    Same goes for the C800..
