Is there a benefit to either one of these types of innerconnection. I will be getting some new (used) gear soon that accepts either and would like to know.

Balanced is always the better way to go.It's better shielded due to it's design.

    Dan,
S/N ratio is like 5 db higher for balanced... yes?

For me, it has always depended on the gear I was using.

Balanced cables made a noticeable difference between my preamp and power amp. Balanced cables actually gave a slightly less detailed sound when used between my CD player and preamp.

That's interesting raife... I would have thought the the difference would be even more noticable with lower voltage source signals.

What RCA's did you find superior? What balanced IC's are you running?

Both the RCA and balanced cables are Monster Z200i.
