You have connect them in parallel,so you need to piggyback them and connect both leads of each cap to both of the other.

For instance - is this how I would position the 2uf on the 20uf -- and I would assume I would solder the connections I have twisted together....

Correct, and I would add a bit of hot glue to keep them from vibrating against each other.

    Ok...

And when I remove the old capacitor - it doesnt matter which end of the new capacitor goes in which hole as long as it is in a hole... correct?

    Hmmm

So the process I am thinking of here is

Step 1 - desoldering all resistors and caps
Step 2 - Heat gun lightly around aforementioned components to loosen hot glue and remove part - remove hot glue

Make sure board is clean - lay out new parts...

Mount and solder resistors first then caps

hot glue each individual component as I go

    Correct,as they are not polarised.

    Sounds good.

I usually wait till it's all together before applying hot glue.

    Hmmm

Point taken -- only reason I put hot glue on the resistors before the caps is I couldnt reach them afterwards..

I decided to use 18 awg wire to extend the caps - couldnt wait... just soldered the ends and stuck it through the hole... soldered the end to the cap - heat shrinked it...

    Should be golden

Will post pics in a sec - will hook up to test shortly

Alright here is my first shot at solder, first shot at modifying any crossover or circuit board

I think I did pretty good...

I gotta admit - soldering is far easier than I thought it was - as far as circuit boards go. Just gotta take your time...

But totally easier than I thought it would be...

It sounds like the Auricap was an excellent choice for that application.

It was an immediate difference when I sat down -- before I was squinting it was so bright lol

Sounded like there may be more lows - but maybe i can hear them now over the squealing highs...

    haha - more to come

Here is my 2nd try - far easier, no complications.

I love this! I would do this just to keep my brain thinking hahahaha

    So much fun!

VR3-I'll do it for the pleasure of helping out a brother IF you'll foot the bill for the parts. I've got Aeon caps and Caddock resistors in my XO's. The caps aren't a big deal, BUT the resistors MUST HAVE A HEATSINK!!

I'ma tard, should have read the rest of the thread.

haha - Cant wait till the second pair get here wednesday --- I will be using a slightly different set of caps - will be interesting to see if I can hear any difference...

You will. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if you order another pair of Auricaps.

I got some good listening in...

While the tweeters are tamer and everything sounds better -

They still are not anywhere near the level of my Tylers haha - of course...

I would put the DTs on the level of the RT series - but the DTs are brighter and will mesh better with the Tylers I think

I actually take the above statement back -- I would put them midrange wise with the LSi - highs with the RT and the lows with the LSi

The low end on these things are killer

I received the 2nd pair yesterday and modified the second crossover in an a blistering 2 hours - thats removing all the components, having to piggy back two caps and running three lead extentions

I mounted the mills resistors differently which made it go faster...

I didnt take pics but I am going to do the next one the same way so Ill take some pics to show that

So I didnt take pics of the second go around - but I will comment that the Auricap is 100000000x better than the film and foil combo with the Daytons. Wow what a difference in fullness and sibilance - wow -- hmm, for surrounds they are fine. But yeah tweeter section on the speakers need better than Dayton - for sure.
