It's fun making your own customized jumpers.

If you need some speaker cable, I have some PNF Symphony I could sell you cheap. PM me if interested.

I was actually going to change it up and make some Bi-wire cables. But I am defiantly interested in the cables just because I could get bored with the home made ones.
    Thanks for the offer.

Goodness PC, you haven't jump started those speakers yet :D ??? How long and how much knowledge does it take to make jumpers ;) ? You know what, an easy way to have a listen demo on your speakers before you invest in material is easy....

    -Remove jumpers from the speakers...

-Strip your speaker cables just long enough so they can be fed through the
bottom and top of your speaker posts (just the same way the original
    jumpers were installed)...

-Open the speaker posts nut as far as possible and If you look carefully there should be a hole in each of the posts...

-Neatly twist the speaker wires the exact same way they normally are when
stripping (I believe clock wise, am I correct?)...

-Now, feed the wire through the bottom and top holes as this should create
continuity (short) between your driver and tweeter...

-You can now test if it makes a difference...

-By doing this, you can audition your speakers using your speaker wires as jumpers and therefore make a wise choice (does it make a difference or not before I spend money???)

Anyway, I sure hope you are still enjoying your system (listening to music and movies) while you are waiting for the material to make your jumpers

Enjoy your speaker jump starting :D

Yeah, I did that yesterday night, I used some speaker wire from my car audio install...which I think it must be 10 gauge or something because my 12 gauge stripper kept eating wires...10 gauge didn't...
They sound a bit more clear and go a little louder, it looks better as well.
I mean it's not a humongous difference (not that I really expected much of one anyway) but its enough that I'm satisfied in bi-wiring them.
Just waiting for the parts...I just hope that I got the right sizes for everything.
If they turn out nice (I'll post pics like I said) Maybe I'll make a few more. It wasn't that expensive, $20 for all the material. It's about what I spend a week for Iced coffee at Timmies.

I hope I do. It says I'll receive the parts around Tuesday.Should not take to long I think I will have to pick up up a heat shrinker.... Although people have had success with their stoves I guess?

Does anyone know what I could do to insulate the wires better? Because I was researching how some of the bigger brands have like 2 or 3 types of insulation on their cables to minimize this and that?

Careful PC, the "bigger brands" have done their homework when adding extra insulation but if you do just off-the-cuff, you could be creating a capacitance issue even with the short runs of jumper wire you are using.:)

Ok, SO I wont add anything extra. I will just braid the wire and slip it inside the techflec then tube wrap the ends...that should avoid me having problems right?

Man,whatever happened to just stripping some extra speaker wire to connect both posts? Seems like alot to do about something very simple. Order parts ?? Hell, if I was going to do that,I would have just bought a set of jumpers and been done with it. To each his own, let us know how they turn out.

    Yeah I know right?
It's just I have nothing to do right no but work. Making some speaker cables seemed like fun. I bought all the parts (Most stuff has come in handy already)
It just seemed like some fun and if they turn out great...amazing if not well, I just spent a day doing something interesting.
I am assuming I will get them Tuesday since it said 2-4 day shipping...
But hey. I mean I learned a lot about speaker wire in the process.
If it fails though I will probably buy that MIT exp1 that are being offered up in the FS if they are still there if not...maybe some audioquest rocket 33s.

They apparently had the techflex on back-order and it was a glitch in their web-page that didn't notify me. I'm going to make them anyway without the techflex for now...I'll post a before and after picture...

reberly--Question. How do you like your audioquest cables I was thinking about buying some a little later down the road.
Second. As for snake oil...oh there's going to be some much your going to think your looking at the snake. :)

Anyway. Just braided it. Blue is 14 gauge and will go to my tweets. Gold is 12 and will got to the mids.
The red. well that's just the carpet
As for the spades, well I guess my receiver cannot accept those. Lame...but whatever I guess strait wire will do.
As for the ends...I will do spades for the mids and bananas for the highs. Wrap em off. Have cables pands on each section wrap that off with bigger shrink..you'll see

ps...dont mind all the electrical tape and cable labels.
How does it looks...I hope the half inch techflex will fit over it...
After my buds leave I'ma shrink the ends and make it all purty like and post the 2nd of the 3 pics.

I learned quite a lot actually.
I think I will stick to buying prepaid wire at the moment.

You put us on an emotional roller coaster and you better not quit now.

You asked before about my AQ cables. When I bought my LSi15's I hooked them right into the AQ Type 4 cables so I have no comparison of a before/after. I decided on this brand after many positive reviews from Polkies and I think they sound great
