    I'd say. What's he doing?

R16, is the warranty still valid on those?

Never had his problems, ever. He must over driven them. He did not specify which Denon he was using. All I can say is distortion kills. If he thinks Denon is the end all, beat all then he can just keep blowing his **** up. Perhaps Bose has something he can use.

    jaster,

So, did you send them into Polk? If so, what did they say? If not, why not?

Just some friendly advice, your Polk bashing post isn't going to get you very far in here, so knock it off.

Hmmmm....looks to me like a pattern of abuse. Plain and simple.

If it were one speaker, I'd be inclined to think that maybe he got a bad unit but three with the same problem?

I also think this is about Abuse.Polk speakers in general are built pretty good.I have owned many pairs and only had one problem.

When I owned the rt1000p's.The one Subwofer rattled. It really pissed me off as I bought them in New Jersey at the Whiz.It was a 35 min drive 1 way.Not to mention repacking up the speaker and carrring it to the car sucks.

The Whiz wanted both speakers back and gave me another brand new set. They wanted to make sure that the other one wasn't going to do the same thing.I felt they did a really good job taking care of me.

Most people have beef with certian products. You can't avoid that.Once you had a bad experience with a product, you really don't want another one.It happens.......

Now Boston Acoustic's.......They are broken more then any other speaker I have ever seen.We get alot of bad ones. Some people get upset and some just replace it with no worries about the new one.

You know that is funny to me that I have never had a polk speaker to do that to me, And if that were the case why has nobody else on this forum ever reported the same problem.......hmmm? Abuse.......I think yes.

Don't blame Denon. Denon is a great receiver. I've been using a Denon 3803 with my RTi's without any problems for the past 6 months. However, I never listen to movies anywhere near reference level.

My Polk's have survived a year with me, that proves something. Ask my subwoofer! How in the eff did you dislocate all the spiders on all your speakers? lol! ATC, i agree, I am not to fond of Denon either! Etchy highs, dirty mids, boomy lows. This is IMO of course....nothing else! You know he is probally forgetting to mention his 1 hour daily 120 DB listening periods!

Seriously dude, if you didn't do something abnormal to your speakers, I'd be very surprised. If Polk was as bad as you think, we'd see people people in here all the time ripping them. The fact is that happens very rarely.

    Apology accepted Venom.

I agree that this guy must have abused his Polks. I'm still using a pair of Polk M3's ( late 80's model ) and they still run strong today under heavy use. I did have a Polk CS101 center that started buzzing after 5 years but it was a cheap center.

From one of jaster's previous posts, he says that he is just outside of his 5 year warranty.

Dan.....I'm hurt... ;) The bottom line is that the guy fried 4 drivers, and if all 4 are dead, I'd have to automatically wonder about the tweets as well. At $76 per driver (Club Polk Disctount), you're lookin at over $300 just to replace drivers, let alone whatever condition the tweets and cabinet......

    don't you already own like 2 pairs????Greedy ****.....;)

I didn't catch the blown driver thing........I'm offer would be modified, where did you get that info?

Sorry Bro,I would love to own a pair on general principle......I wanted them and didn't get em......I had to settle for the newer model in the rt1000p's then...

    jkratzer:

ATC's dislike for Denon is well known and long seated. It's almost tongue in cheek at this point, and his long and torturous journey to better sound has been frought with much peril, throwing good money after bad, and self doubt.

So don't feel the need to defend Denon when ATC bashes their products - it's just one of those quirky and beloved forum idiosyncrasies that makes Club Polk better than all the rest.

When you see ATC and Denon in the same thread, just smile, get ready for some good natured bashing, and don't take it too seriously. We all know the real problem lies in his head, and not in Denon's fine products, so just humor him and play along with it. ;)
