Re: Polk L800 vs Goldenear Triton one.r trying to decide
The problem with built in powered woofers is users treat them as subwoofers and not woofers.
Also most have dedicated cabinets for the upper array within the larger cabinet
I think that goes the same for some powered stand alone subwoofers. Some buy the cheapest disposable powered subs & beat the snot out of them & then complain when they fail

Re: Not getting audio when switching to netflix from dish tv. Audio from dish continues
So what it sounds like is that you're switching from the dish receiver to netflix on a smart tv or other device. What the main cause of this is that you have your dish receiver plugged directly into your soundbar, so when your TV becomes the device you're using, it doesn't have the output to your sound system.
What needs to happen is your soundbar has to be plugged into your TV directly with either an optical cable or an auxiliary cable in the headphone jack to ensure all sound output is directed to your sound system.

Re: Galveston bridge
There solutions to prevent accidents like that and the Key Bridge in Baltimore, but governments don't want to spend the funds to do so.
How can they build back better if they don’t break it first?

Back in the very early days, Harry Pearson (HP) had good things to say about double Advent speakers.

Re: Desktop tower - i5 v i7
I added uBlock Origin and it helped with loading pages. I received the two 8 meg sticks today and they definitely help. Everything seems faster than before. Switching pages seems instantaneous, or at least as compared to before.
Good move for $15, thanks for all the suggestions.
In some ways, the longer you can put off an upgrade, the better. Hardware gets faster for the same price every year.

Re: Legend Line being discontinued.......?
What good is the warranty if there are no parts in the next 5 years. I get it, it's the way it is these days. If so, then don't talk about a warranty or offer a warranty.
Think what would happen if the auto industry did this? Sorry your car is a year old but we have no OEM parts for it. But, I have this nice shiny new car on the showroom and you can pay $5K over MSRP?

Re: Legend Line being discontinued.......?
Very disappointing to be sure. I do agree that not making sure replacement parts are available from when the last set is sold is really a d@@k move. Makes me wonder how long the Reserves will be made. I'd better start thinking about getting some replacement parts myself as I buy new speakers every 30 years or so, so..., I'll die owning these...
