I have a pair in black. They are old from the 80's.Nice little bookshelf speakers for a bedroom or a garage, screen in patio or whatever.
I will post some pic's after I take a few. There in fair to good condition. The cabnets are alittle scratched here and here but nothing major.
I'm thinking 100.00 shipped, what do you guys think?I will take offers.......talk to me.

Those are great little speakers, used a pair as surrounds for several years. Mine have been reassigned to music duty as, get this, monitors for my wife's keyboard. Guess their name implies where they excel.
-
Any takers.Yes they are nice bookshelf speakers. They sound pretty good.
If they don't sell,I just might keep em and put them in the garage.Dan

I am a fiend for small speakers, those are very cool, just can't handle it right now. You can't beat this "auction" folks, Polk Forum always gets first dibs.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I was going to buy them, but after your shootout I just don't know.
Actually I just wanted to say that I wish I needed them and that it's a heck of a deal from a respected member.Make it Funky!
-
gidrah,
don't gauge them by the shootout. They where way outclassed.I was bored due to the rain and had nothing better to do at the time.
They are a good sounding speaker. They have the old school polk sound.A better shoot out would have been a pair of rt35i's but I don't have them anymore.I bet that would have been alot closer.
Just as a reference point I put up my rt1000p's against the Lsi15's and the results where the same. The rt's got killed in everyway.
After listening to Lsi for so long,it's hard to praise any other speaker at or under them.
If you really want them and still want the Transparent 1m musicklinks,I will make you a killer package deal......
talk to me,I'm very flexable with them.Dan

Let me get back to you when my $ clears up a little. I'm in the process of having my current house (duplex rental) inspected for city certs. and a house we're trying to buy (and move to) inspected/appraised. What an expensive pain in the neck.
Hopefully things will clear up soon and you'll still have both available. Maybe Russ will still have some Celestions too. If not, so be it. It's time for Edgars anyways.:DMake it Funky!
-
Good luck with the living project.I know all about it.I have building a house for over 2 years now and they still aren't finished. They are building 17 houses, but I feel they should have been done along time ago.....
When your ready and If I still have them, talk to me...we'll work it out.Dan

Mantis:
May still be interested. Will talk to my son about it this w/e. He's 14 and wants to replace the cheapa%s Jenson speakers he bought when I handed down to him my 40W Denon 2ch DRA receiver for his room. Yours seem pretty comparable to the monitor 5jr's I use as the rears in my HT set up, but I see the 5jrs have the extra 6" woofer. I'll be they'd be sweet with the Denon.
Here's to hoping he'll want them. Get back to you soon."I want to change my username to Gordo, but Club Polk won't let me" -
Your 5's have a passive radiator, these 2's are vented (ported).
I used to have a pair of these, they have a pretty solid low-end for a shelf speaker. That midbass driver (as in your 5's) is from the same family the RTA/SDA series used.
Cheers,

I would also like to chime in here, I have heard a pair of these and really like the sound.
Monitor 4's are pretty similar to a pair I have (Monitor 5), and you must have the Monitor 5 Jr. +.
They sport the "classic" Polk sound from the bookshelves of the day.
You will probably be surprised listening to them that they are so small.
Take care.
