Pioneer VSX 1017 opinions ?

I had been looking at the Pioneer VSX 1017 and the Yamaha v861.

Today I stumbled across an open box VSX 1017 at BB ( $85.00+tax and had to buy a new remote ) and bought it.

Is it a good reciever ? :rolleyes:

    That's a great price for that piece. I would have bought it at that price even though I don't need another AVR.

    I had a couple of Pio's and they were good for the money.

    Pioneer receivers generally get decent reviews.

    It's a fantastic receiver for the price but the HDMI is video only. You cannot run audio in on the HDMI cable from a blu-ray or PS3 etc. Other than that the unit gets great reviews and sounds really good.

    That receiver shares many of the same features and specs as my slightly older Elite but for waaaaaay less money. Glad you are happy.
