Well, all is not...well. Got it all wired up and went to put the gear rack into place and the HDMI out cable hung up and bent the connector going into the Onkyo. I could get an image if I wiggled the cable around so I knew it was shot. Ordered up a new cable from Bluejeans so it'll be middle of the week before I can do much more with it. :(

Just run out and get a cheap one. You are going to wait a week to get a cable in the mail?

Bluejeans ships fast, priority mail. Should be here by Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest. But, here's the kicker....

I just ordered up the 805, I'm going to send the 705 back, I really like the look of the 805 and the extra horses under the hood. For a little more then $100 I think it's worth it.

Yeah, I think it's a better machine all the way around and it's not too much more then the 705. I should have it here by Tuesday. I joined Amazon Prime so it's only $3.99 for 1-day shipping.

The 805 arrived today. This thing is a monster, 61 lbs vr the 705's 34 lbs, took both the wife and I to get it out of the box safely. I think I'll build a dedicated shelf for it, it's too heavy for my DIY gear rack. It's also a very impressvie looking AVR. Hopefully my new HDMI cable will arrive tomorrow so I can get this thing up and running.

Just bought The Golden Compass, it's got a DTS-MA track.

Alright, who want to take bets on how long Ron waits to get a bit streaming BD player so he can see DTS-MA and TrueHD light up across the front of that 805, I say 6 months. :p

Well I sent it all back. I got all fed up and spent all day trying to wire up the set up in the tiny bedroom I am staying in and all the sound went out. It just stopped working. I have been doing this long enough to know I had all my settings and inputs correct so I just decided forget it. I didn't need to spend the money anyway.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out, that sucks.

Oh, and the thread I started on the 805 is gone. Must have been lost when Justin reverted back to the old software.

Hey Ron, you heard any DTS HD MA audio bombs yet, some people over at AVS are reporting getting them with PS3 as well bitstreaming player. I heard my first one while watching the Orphanage, it happened during the one of the creepiest parts of the movie, scared the crap out of me, but good thing is it looks like a fixable problem with an update.
