Denon AVR-2805 and Zone 2 question....

I now have a Denon AVR-2805 (thanks to Mark) and have an audiosource amp one that I used for my zone 2 with the sony. I have it set up the same way as with the Sony (RCA's from amp to receiver and speakers hooked up to the amp). I now get no sound out of the 2nd room speakers, however. I'm not sure if I overlooked something simple or if this AVR takes a lot more set-up for something like that. Does anyone familiar with this particular AVR please chime in with any thoughts on what may be giving me the problem? Thanks in advance.
Shawn

You have to have all analog connections between the receiver and the sources. You also have to turn the zone 2 volume up as it comes from the factory all the way down. You can change it from fixed to vari depending on if you have a volume control for your zone 2.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
mantis, thanks for the input. I have an analog connection from the cd player to the AVR. I turned on Zone 2 with the remote and turned the volume up - still no sound. I'll have to check when I get home about the fixed or variable. The amp has a seperate volume control so which one should I use? Do you know how to switch between the two options? Sorry for the ignorance, but the manual definitely leaves something to be desired!
Thanks,
ShawnShawn

If your Zone 2 amp has a volume control, then use fixed output from the AVR. Sometimes you have to select the source for zone 2 through a separate step. These things never work quite as easy as you'd expect. -
mantis and bill,
Appreciate the help. I got home and had to set the input as analog on the on screen display for Zone 2 and everything works great. Thanks again.
