***This is not at bash THX thread - please post if you have had training or experience****

I am going to change job careers shortly. I have a chance to get Level 2 THX tech. training next month. It will cost $1500. I was wondering if anyone on the forum has this training and if it will help me score a job in the industry. The training is 3 days, seems to be alot fun and very informative. I still have to fly up to Denver for a week and pay for all expenses. This is really the only training standard out their for the HomeTheater industry. Class numbers are VERY limited.
Is it worth it?

I guess it is good marketing strategy if you have your own business. Going to contact some employers and see what they say. It is just a pricey venture if it doesn't do anything for me.
Anyone want to start a business?:D

Exactly! You need to find out if employers care about it first.

I agree, CEDIA training is worth more than THX training. They have a large class schedule and multiple locations for the training all year round. You should do some research before throwing that money on the table.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Dude it's all good. THX training is very good. I trained with John Doal From THX in Room Accustics. He is awesome and taught me alot. His training helped me in the field.
The more you have under your belt the more your worth. Cedia and CES traing is also very good and very Important. I have been trained in CES for years and have taken many classes at CEDIA. I have many certifications in many different things.

I always wanted to go to THX. It's something I plan on doing. I also want to go to ISF. I have training in ISF but I'm not Certified.

Many people want to put out little effort and expect the most in return. I'm a firm believer of constantly educating myself. I love going to traing.
