Replacing 6502s

I am replacing the mids in my Monitor 5's, as one is shot. I also am doing the tweeters (using RDO) and have the parts ordered from Polk. I know some of you have had problems putting in the new mids because of some rubber around the screw holes. If I cut the rubber out to look like the old mids, will this work...or is there something more to it. Anyone have pictures of what they did to work around this issue? Thanks.

That's correct. If you haven't ordered them already talk to Ken when you order and let him know your concern and I bet they will arrive already trimmed properly. I believe there are a couple members here who had to have brand new mids replaced, and the 2nd batch arrived pre-trimmed.
Ken will take care of you, no problemo. Do those x-overs too if you feel so inclined

If they are already on their way, they might still be pre-trimmed. If not, an exacto knife will get the job done."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Ordered last Thursday I think...should be on the way. Thanks. I got a C- in shop class in the 9th grade.....but I do change my own light bulbs. -

Well if it's a bit much to handle. Send me the new ones and I'll send you the used ones from my 5b's, they came pre-trimmed from the factory 20 years ago.

The 6502s and RD0 tweets arrived today and I got them in my Monitor 5s. The mids aren't marked with a plus or red, so trial and error. They sound good. I have them next to a Monitor 5 Series 2. Very similar, but different. That's the extent of my insight tonite.
PS. I did have to trim the rubber out of the screw holes. A little nerve racking. -
I had to have them replaced but the 2nd set did not arrive pre trimmed. You have to cut them out yourself.I believe there are a couple members here who had to have brand new mids replaced, and the 2nd batch arrived pre-trimmed.Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro

What do you think of the RDO'sengtaz

they're pretty....I didn't listen long enough to get a good read or comparison with the SL2500 (on the series 2). I thought it was funny that one of the sl2000 I removed had M5 on the back of it and the sl2000 number and the other had sda on it. Hey, I haven't had a chance to scan that manual...do you want whole thing or just specs? Most of the manual is marketing b.s.

The RD0's will need ample break in time to sound correct."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience.
