I am thinking about selling my SRS 3.1 TLs but I have no idea how much they are worth. They are in excellent near mint condition with the exception of a slight bit of roughing on one edge of one grill cloth. Components and cabinet are nearly as new. Thy've been driven with Audio Research components for quite a while but my other half has put the clamps on my guitar strumming and audio, so I'll be left with the car audio.

I am in the Denver CO area

I will take pics tomorrow to either post or email to interested parties, but I honestly have no idea how much they are worth, and they are too heavy to take to a local dealer for consignment; besides, I'd rather a forum member get them at a reasonable price

I also have a set of mint 3.1TL's. New, they sold for $2000 back in 1991. I think 50% of new cost is about what I would expect if I chose to sell them. I would ask $950 and not settle for much less. The little CRS+ routinely goes for $400 and it only has two mid-bass drivers per cabinet. Seeing that this is a much bigger speaker (5 mid-bass drivers) rated at twice the wattage (500 W), it only stands to reason that it would sell for at least twice as much. If you sell them for less than $800, you are cheating yourself and providing somebody else an exceptional deal.

Hey Ron, I know you will respond to this one...:D I'd purchased
my 2.3TL's for $900.00 and my 1.2TL's for $1050.00 so
I'd projected that will be for the 3.1's...

BUT NOW... I wouldn't sell that for my SRS's, I will keep them
until the end of the world...

If I will let it go I would sell my 1.2TL's for 20g...

I agree with Ron, I also have (2) pair of 3.1tl. They are excellent speakers and it would be a disgrace to sell them for less than 800. I believe the 850.00 to 950.00 is a good price. They are rare, I have only seen a few become available here or on ebay.

Thank you all for your feedback. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and perhaps I can get a brief audio reprieve. I'd miss them once they are gone. I think I'll polish the wood and crank them up ever so little once the other member of the household leave for an hour or so for Friday shopping. If the neighbors don't call in armed guards I may be able to keep them for a while longer - we'
    ll see.

There are two pairs of 3.1TL's on Audiogon for $825 for each pair. Both in excellent condition. Both pairs are being sold by the same seller. The seller originally had them listed at a "firm" price of $950 each, but has since dropped the price. I guess he was initially expecting them to sell rather quickly.;)

When I originally heard these in the store, I couldn't tell much difference between the 3.1TL and the 1C. I opted for the 1C. In fact, I've opted for the 1C twice.:);)

    Har,

Just because you score killer SDA deals - well, that doesn't lower the resale value for everybody else.

$900 for a set of 3.1TL's is about right. $650 is a steal.
I'd say that a set of 2.3's was worth about $1200.
And, I'd say that a set of 1.2's is worth about $1700.
