SDA SRS 1.2 for sale

I need to sell my beloved SDA SRS 1.2 house shakers. They are in excellent condition. I have owned them for 7 years now. I am the second owner. Walnut cases. These are not the TL's. They come with the interconnect cable and owners manual. Have only been connected to quality amps with plenty of power to drive them properly. They are located in The SFO bay area in Calif. My price is $1700. I will entertain all offers though. I have been watching the few that appear on Ebay and I feel this is a good price for these outstanding speakers. To a good and loving home only with quality equipment. I had planned on being buried in them but I have more important prioritys right now.     No doubt about their beauty, but I think you may be a bit high for this forum. I got my 1.2 TL's for $100 less than that from Oregon.

    You will always find the "going rate" higher on e-bay and if you are in fact going to stay firm on your price, maybe it would serve you better to list them there.

    Fellow Polkies here on the forum would probably agree $1700 for the non TL version is a couple hundred too high.

    drivers like new...excellent condition! The only worn part are the
    grilles...

    I think the asking price of $1700.00 is right on target. Sure everybody wants to buy as cheap as possible, but it is a fair price.
    Joe got a great deal on his. I thank you for offering them here first and I hope some smart forum buyer gets them.

    They look nice. Too bad you have to part with them. My wife is often after me to part with my originals but I am standing firm. I will ask my friends to see if anyone has any interest. I am in Daly City so if I found you a taker, shipping would not be a issue. We can talk about price if and when I find a interested party.

    That price sounds reasonable to me. I paid 1650 for one pair in absolute mint condition and 2000 for a pair of SDA SRS in great condition. Like many of you I have seen a pair go for $1000 but then again, that was stupid and I only saw it once. I wouldn't sell mine for that price.

    What shipping company did you use and how much did it cost?

    I was in a hurry to get them and paid big bucks through Delta Air Frieght, think it was around $325 or something like that.

    I paid $250.00 (CA to MD) with ABF Trucking. Online special "one time shipment" deal. However you ship, be sure to use bomb-proof cartons, those boys can be rough on things.

    I have used Forward air before to ship large heavy things like motorcycles. They charge something like $23 per 100 lbs. I shipped a Yamaha Riva 125 scooter to NJ from Cal for 112. I crated it and delivered to there terminal. They are just ground even though the name implies air freight. It got there in 4 days via truck. A crate for a scooter is one thing but building one for these would have to be a labor of love to fully protect them. My idea is to wrap them very well in that industrial plastic wrap to protect the surface then wrap them in this really thick pile carpet that came out of my house a while back then again wrap in plastic to keep carpet on speakers then onto padded pallet then build the rest of the enclosure. But first install a small device inside of the speakers so whenever they are being handled roughly a voice comes through the speakers asking them to please be gentle it is crowded enough in here! lol. Could probably ship them anywhere ion the lower 48 for under 200.

    Instead of shrink wrap plastic, use a large loose plastic bag. Then cut thick slabs of stryofoam, place the slabs on the speakers and then use the shrink wrap. If you shrink wrap around the cloth it will cause creases/rubs. Then build a crate around them.

    for my 1.2TL's for $264.00 to ABF freight that was from Dallas,Tx to Moline, Ill.:)
