1: I like the look of the new center channel.... its sexier looking that its thinner and longer- but do not like the sound.
2: The sound of the newer speakers sound ok...not real impressed with it. The new look look is more of a sporty look...the older line looked sexier... mor elegant than the newer line.. cheezy is a good word for the newer look.
3) I'm glad I bought the speakers I did when I did.. all RT---i series.
matter of fact. .. finaly picked up a set of RT25i's yesterday- they were demo's in room barley used.. probably my last polk buy- unless I go to the LSi's
sorry Polk...I'm not impressed...but this is my opinion
I've only done limited demos at CC ( be honest, how good of a demo can you get at CC?? ) but I don't notice dramatic differences in sound.
You guys are getting harsh..

Troy, consider the source.

I thought the finish wasn't bad at all, of course, as said, you can't get a good CC demo to save your life.... Interesting though, I'll have to get my listen on, surely they didn't change THAT much...but maybe so.....

I am a long time polkster and am saddened. I have recommended Polk to many satisfied friends and my advice now is buy the old while you can.

The tweeter, I think is supposed to smooth out the highs....The tri-lam is a great tweeter but at high volumes can get harsh......
I went to CC last night to kill some time and was listening to the new bookshelves.....obviously NOT a critical demo....the point is, I don't notice them being radically different than the old line. Give 'em a chance before you pan them fellas......People were saying the SAME thing when the RTi line replaced the RT line.
Evolution is a natural thing guys.......we can't stop it....

It can show it's face with brighter amps like Yamaha, its comes into play quicker.
My rt1000p's did this at moderate levels when I owned Yamaha,I did everything to avoid it,I even bought the newer rt1000i tweater's and crossovers to calm it down.Swapped out receivers like they were going out of bussiness.

I wish I new what you are talking about? My Yamaha amps with SDA's sound great to me. IMO, I would like the upper frequencies to be a bit more "bright"?(this is a term I have heard on this forum) Maybe I am so old, fat, ugly, bald and "wanting to be" that I don't here what you do "all mighty final word on everything"!
Thanks all,
