Awesome. Welcome back as well. I have come and gone through the decades.

I still have some ice powered Pioneer Elite receivers from the decades of ago.

Which Pioneer do you have that pump out 200 watts? I had a few through the decades. I do still have the SC 99 and SC 37.

Well dang!! I believe SC09 were the holy grail of the ice amps. At some point Pioneer stopped the in house and started. I can't remember and went with the B&O ice amps, or developed their own. Very nice keeper man! Very nice.

@mantis you had one ages ago right?

This has the B&O ICE. It's definitely a "keeper". The ultimate Pioneer Elite flagship. Four years of R&D went into it's development in 2008. It has 200 watts per channel in 7.2 mode and 140 watts per channel in 10.2 mode.

About 15 years ago I had a lightning strike hit a power pole right outside my house and it blew out my TV and the HDMI board in the SC-09TX. I didn't have them plugged into a surge protector. Now I defninitely do.

It cost me $900 to have the SC-09TX repaired at an authorized Pioneer repair center in St. Louis. It took several weeks to get a replacement board from Japan for it but the end results were perfect. Definitely worth it. I had all the latest firmware installed at that time too. It's been awesome ever since. I hope it stays that way because I don't know how available parts are for an 18 year-old limited edition receiver like this are. I baby it and it is still in excellent condition.

I have the matching BDP-09FD BluRay/CD player too.

That’s a beefy Receiver right there.
    Me like…

Always wondered why Receivers didn’t go to Class D amplification earlier.
With limited amount of room, and weight consideration, why didn’t they?

Well I don't know about weight, this one weighs 80 lbs. I had to reinforce the shelf it sits on to support it. It generates a lot less heat though. The BluRay player weighs 30 lbs. so I reinforced that shelf too. The build quality on both these flagships is unbelievable.

I put eight #12 screws in each shelf in addition to the pegs they sit on.

Limit hopefully goes up over time. Not necessarily correlated to enjoyment however.
