how do calibrate the 2 and what should I do/not do ?

    I calibrate mine as if they are one sub.

    Here's how I would do it.

    Turn the sub level on your AVR to zero. Then turn one sub on and calibrate it using the volume knob on the sub. Then turn that sub off and do the same thing with the 2nd sub. Then turn both subs on and calibrate both of them by lowering the sub level on your AVR.
