Has anyone had any issues with the volume on their Magnifi Max increasing to the max and bouncing there randomly? I believe this only started to happen to me when firmware 136 went on it I believe that was in the last few months.

I'll forward your contact information to a friend at Polk.

Same thing just started happening to me. My Magnifi Max also got this update. Also when this happens my controller doesn’t work. I have to unplug the unit. It then works for a while until it happens again.

Hi, any update on this issue. Anyone else having this happen? It has made my soundbar unusable since the volume keeps going to max volume no matter what I do. It’s joltingly loud so I hate to even mess around with it. I am pretty savvy with technical stuff so if anyone knows of a way to back down firmware, I’ll try it. Not much to lose at this point.

Any firmware updates after 136? My audio would stop working whenever I changed the volume when using the ARC or optical inputs. Tried on two different tvs, so I know it's the speaker and not a TV firmware. Was working just fine for 2+ years, but stopped sometime around the beginning of the year and I haven't had an opportunity to chase down with tech support and just left it unplugged. It sounds like some users had various issues with volume on this firmware, so maybe my issues are related?
I'm very technical, so willing to downgrade firmware if there is a way to (assuming through the service port). -
See above recommendation.

How do you tell what version of firmware is on your magnifi max?

Has Polk ever come up with a fix to the MagniFi Max volume automatically increasing to 100% on its own? The MagniFi is worthless at this point.

They are all worthless! -

This is a common issue with pretty much all soundbars from any brand. It usually comes down to the device it is connected to, especially when utilizing tech like CEC via HDMI ARC/eARC.
Essentially the soundbar is only doing what it is told, but sometimes there can be hiccups within the TV handshake that accidently sends a volume command that isn't actually there. The major fix that can be applied to any TV/Soundbar pairing is to simply turn off the CEC (often different names under different brands, Samsung's Anynet+, LG's SimpLink, and Sony's BRAVIA Sync, etc.)
When CEC works, it's great, but when it doesn't, it can create a host of issues such as this one mentioned. Unfortunately it's nothing a sound bar manufacturer can do to fix it since the sound bar is simply reacting to the signal sent from the TV. -
The problem still exists even when CEC is turned off. Any other suggestions?
