My older brother did exactly that to me! I was maybe 10 or 12.

Costco has these on sale in/warehouse.....$35 for a four pack.....I picked up 10 boxes to replace the acoustic foam on my walls....

2'x2' panels.....the walnut finished slats are mounted on thick felt. -
