MW6600 or MW6501
Mine was the SDA1 signature and they came with MW6600 in all spots except the dimensional spot, it was MW6501. Later models came with all MW6501. I'm fairly sure the MW6501 and MW6600 were identical in specs. I ran one speaker with all MW6600 and the other with MW6501, I could tell zero difference.
Boy, Edwin from Polk Customer service sure fouled up the response. He gave info on the SDA1b, which they are NOT! Polk CS sure has fallen way down the mountain. -

I must admit, the electric socket for the interconnect is genius

Ive looked for that model before just to make a tweeter plate to go center of all the mids and have a listen.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

The original SDA1 with ports also had boxes inside the cabinet built around the top drivers. There was papers in the vintage speaker section that walked you through the removal of the boxes and plugging the ports to turn the SDA1 into the SDA1a. Your best bet to do what you would like is to look for the SDA1a. There would be a ton less work involved and a LOT less glue to scrap out. My .02 -
Good info.
Id just sawhole the center and drop in a round bezel using the stereo tweeter circuit.
If I liked what I hear, then pretty er up.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.
