When I was first deciding I could of gotten l800 or the golden one.r so I didn’t know about the same price at the time so it always made me wonder if the l800 were better or worse I do like the mids and highs bass is ok nothing crazy but accurate. I can make a short trip like 500 miles round trip to find a set of lsi707 around 800 are they worth getting vs what I already have or about similar

Let me add, if you want thumpy boom-boom bass like one hears in a Honda with a coffee can muffler don't get a Velodyne. If you want real bass then get a Velodyne.

There are actually some other very good choices for real bass. There are many REL fans here as well as SVS, RSL, and HSU Reseach fans. REL are well known to integrate well with 2-ch systems. SVS and HSU are typically used more for mixed HT/Music system with an LFE out, but the RSL Speedwoofer 10s/12s Mkii have speaker level inputs that work well with 2-ch systems and they are priced lower than the other choices.
