Yes, you do need a left and a right.

I wish I could answer that. I ordered replacement crossovers for mine and came to learn that left and right are identical. The two in my speaker are the same part number as those shipped to me by Polk.

It would be hard to believe if the speakers were actually made differently, I have a ton of polks and some Goldenear but I was just thinking maybe snag a set or I can get I used LSI 707 for like 700-800. I have the triton one.r and the Triton 2 and Polk SDA 1.2tl and Polk Rt3000 and many more

I’m sure the crossovers are the same, I’m assuming it’s all in the wiring, question is can that easily be done? I own a set, but have never really opened them up, other than replacing the tweeters.

Is it worth spending 6000 grand on two lefts at best buy

I like the mids an highs on the Goldenears but I have already added to Sunfire Hts 10s and i normally run a Pioneer PL707 turntable so if I turn up the volume my subs go nuts as it gets some sort of feedback with the turntable but I feel my Rt3000p still have more bass so that’s why I thought of the l800

That would be my guess as well. If @nooshinjohn was inside of his, he may have some insight.

Absolutely not! They are worth half that. Best Buy never stocked them in their stores. I do not know where
you are located, but these are worth a drive...

You need a subsonic filter, something like this.

I've found that turntable isolation goes a long way when trying to reduce feedback. If the walls and floor are shaking from the bass thumping, the stylus on your turntable is, too!

The crossovers in the original SDA speakers were identical as well, but the speakers were definitely a left and right.

IMO, with the L800 if you have say two left channel cabinets the dimensional drivers will be on the same side when they should be on opposite sides.

I believe that worst, case, someone who is the slightest bit knowledgeable could swap the dimensional speakers and wiring to the correct side. Is it ideal? Probably not for resale. Also, I don't think $6000 is a good deal. Be patient and find a used pair. A correct left/right pair was up for a month near me recently for $2500.

I’m betting the drivers are the same, it will all be in the wiring, but how easy it will be is the bigger question, but I would think it’s doable..

I tried to send a message to the Facebook messenger and he said yes still available but hasn’t responded since so I don’t know it’s like 8 hours one way, are these speakers worth the drive I can get a pair LSI 707 for like 800 or so but I need more bass for my preference as the Golden ear one.r and the triton2 and the two sunfire 10a hrs don’t seem to do it for me but the in general sounds fine I use an Adcom 5802 and the one.r and Adcom 555 for the triton 2 and the ceiling speakers that are junk and and the Polk 5jr for the kitchen on Adcom 545

Get a Velodyne DD+ sub or two if you want real bass.

They are very much worth the drive. Where do you live?

I also own both RT3000Ps and Triton Ones. They are BASS masters for a large or very large room. I've smiled many times at their ability to thump my chest.

I have not heard the L800s.

If you need more than the ones I own now, you should take F1nuts' advice, period.

I haven't heard the Velodyne DD+ sub but have read reviews.

I owned a pro-speaker set that had twin 15" woofers and a horn mid/tweeter in each one.
Those hit my chest so hard, they interrupted my breathing! :o:D

Let me add, if you want thumpy boom-boom bass like one hears in a Honda with a coffee can muffler don't get a Velodyne. If you want real bass then get a Velodyne.

I NOW remember owning a couple of Velodyne powered subs that were GREAT.

I do regret to this day selling "one of them" to an old co-worker for cheap. But he was a good dude. B)

I would think two sunfire hts 10s would be enough but they pickup on the needle and go nuts so maybe some isolation would be smart. I asked him to ship it as I would need to pay for hotel rooms and gas and that can get pricy. However he doesn’t want to ship and I bet it would cost a fortune to have it packaged and shipped as he does not have the original boxes so maybe out not sure
