Def Tech Mythos ST towers.

Hello everyone,
I put them up for sale like a year or 2 ago. Got a few hits but no one grabbed them.
My wife put them up on Facebook marketplace , lowered the price and still no one.

I really didn't care if they sold, they are still the best sounding speakers IMO I have ever owned and I kinda have a love hate relationship with them due to they are powered towers. Yes they are Sandy's flagship , basically his SRT Mathew speakers that he designed for himself. Yes they are remarkable.

Anyway my wife got a hit from a guy in New York and was willing to drive 5 hours to come get them. Today was that day. He knocked on the door and arrived 30 minutes before he was going to and I let him in and we talked for a while. He said he already purchased a pair but they were in bad shape, 1 of the sub amps didn't work and they seemed like the owner abused them.

Mine looked brand new, he was impressed on how well I kept them. I had the original boxes manual power cords and even another set of crossovers brand new from Def Tech I purchased many years ago, I was gonna have Trey or someone in here do the Sonic cap upgrade and I never got around to it. Not that they needed any improvements, as I feel they are incredible already.

Anyway as he pulled away with them, I all of a sudden felt a bit of a loss. I felt like I got rid of a pair of speakers that were never beat by anything I have brought home over the years. A pair od speakers I use to like to bring back up from the basement , run them and sit and wonder why I bother to even consider anything else. Basically they felt like the forever speakers. But they are now gone.

So many speakers I have had here and none of them bested them.

Sad to hear about your loss.

I, too, have had MANY of those moments.

Some regrets last for years. :'(
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I felt that way about the Boston Acoustic VRs and Ushers I sold.

My current Def Tech 7002 will be sticking around for some time unless I can find the SCs for a decent price which is never gonna happen.

Like you I have an extra set of Xovers of my 7002 and 2500 for Trey to tweak lol….

I also want one or two of their Trinity subs but those are like unicorns as well.

I feel your pain Dan. It's always tough to let go of gear that you have such fond memories of. Not to worry though the way you go thru speakers they will be a distant memory shortly.
