Riding Season! (Motorcycles)

Starting a new motorcycle thread... I thought there was a running thread about our bikes here in the clubhouse but when I searched I only found stuff from 10-12 years ago. Time flies... not sure how many riders we got left. Anyhoo...

Just got my bike all tuned up for a new season... tires, all new fluids, fork seals, timing belts. I'm pretty stoked as last year I did not ride due to a bum knee that has now (finally) healed up.

I'm thinking of maybe getting a touring bike, Goldwing or Beemer. I've got a hankering to put lots of miles on but the Ducati is not the best for that (fun though it is).

I’ve got a 2025 triumph trident that I really enjoy. Ride it sparingly as every day a new motorcycler wounds up dead around here. Drivers just don’t care

That is a sweet looking Monster!

Love Triumphs. That black and yellow with the stripes is very cool. That bike is a tight little package. Must be nimble as all get out. I bet the three cylinders make a unique sound. And yeah, I don't know how they manage it, but drivers are becoming continually more retarded.

Sadly “The Booger” will be sold off soon. It’s getting harder and harder to move this in the garage. The legs ain’t what they used be.

Those Triumph Triples have one of the best exhaust sounds in my opinion. It growls and screams at the same time.

I can relate to that. Mine got sold last year after 20 years here. Legs ain't what they need to be when moving a 850lb bike around.

Nice bikes guys. I always like the die hards up here that open the season up usually in late March and ride into Nov - Dec. Weather permitting. One thing I can't stand are the guys who feel the need to rev and loud on residential streets. Why? What purpose does this serve except to annoy everyone else.
If I were a rider, the only time I could see it bring loads of fun is on an open road far away from city congestion. Hope you guys have a great season and more importantly, a safe one.

^^^^^^Agreed and I'll add mine; I never understood the mindset of the ones that park their bikes in front of the local watering hole all day instead of riding on that perfect riding day.

There is a certain type of motorcycling called "Ride to Eat". Or possibly "Drink" (but that's certainly ill-advised).

@Jetmaker737 Glad to hear you healed up. That is one bad azz Duc! I certainly hope to be a participant in this thread other than drooling on it. The idea of owning and operating the new CB1000F on the street is becoming more appealing than trying to get a race bike to do track days....I think....

Great thread, I hope it thrives!

Thanks @Geoff4rfc ! The retro styling of the CB1000F is very cool and the bike looks to be coming to the US market soon. Let us know if/when you pick one up!

Guys, enjoy the freedom on those two-wheelers!

My favorite lyrics in this song:
Took a look down a westbound road
Right away I made my choice
Headed out to my big two-wheeler
I was tired of my own voice
Took a bead on the northern plains
And just rolled that power on

    .
    .
    .
    .
Stood alone on a mountain top
Starin' out at the Great Divide
I could go east, I could go west
It was all up to me to decide
Just then I saw a young hawk flyin'
And my soul began to rise
    And pretty soon
    My heart was singin'

It's been hit or miss (mostly miss so far) in the upper Midwest. Sold my '09 VStrom and bought a '23 as a leftover in '24. It was around 40 degrees on my way to work today. Chilly ride bit at least it's dry. I sure hope monsoon season is done up here, not to mention the freezing/below freezing temps. Heck, we had snow flurries yesterday...
