Need a speakon connector that can accommodate 13.5mm speaker cable housing.

Options
I have the discontinued NL2FX speakon connectors, I bought a new furutech cable for my sda2a speakers but the blue retention collar doesn't fit over the cable housing. Is there a larger one, and are the newer versions any better, as the ones I have don't seem to have a very robust connection to the conductors.

The blue collar is the problem, it doesn't fit over the cable housing, the other picture is the conductor termination that doesn't look like much.

I recommend removing the outer jacket and going to heat shrink and a collar[, you can see in this photo.

I've never had any issues with the set screws not grabbing the wire. Very secure

Whatever kind VR3 used on my SDA's are pretty impressive.

Edit: That picture is not my SDA crossovers for the record!

Yeah the new neutrik connectors with the green barrels are a huge improvement over the old blue ones.

Use the best one. It takes up to a 16mm cable as is. With a little custom work one can fit almost double that.

That will work, looks like it's way better constructed than the NL2FX I have.

I was a bit off with my, "almost double" comment, but its been a long time since I did one. That connector will take up to a 22mm OD cable with a little modification.

The nl2 is a smaller connector since it's meant for 2 conductors

I only have 2 conductors, I guess that Neutrik didn't figure for this higher end cable.

Can you drill out the end to accommodate the larger diameter?

I thought about doing that, but I just ordered the newer bigger better ones instead.
