Well I went with the Epson WF-3820. I couldn't beat the $70 price. The Epson ink is very reasonable for both color and black. With the amount I'll print in a year the standard (non XL) was $50 for the pair, as in the 3 color and a black. The old HP was $80 for the black and $130 for the color.
I looked at a few of the laser printers but to get one that scans to the puter was $100 more and the toner was $140. I'd have to do a lot more printing than I do to justify the cost.
How are you liking the Epson after a year?
We have a 15(?) year-old Canon Pixma TS6020 that has been frustrating me with its random jams, usually at the worst times. So, time to start looking around …

Works good, zero complaints!! Heck I'm still using the ink that came in it. Those are about empty but they never dried up. Unlike the last HP printer that if it sat for 6 months unused you would need to change ink cartridges before ot would print

OK, thanks. I think I'll get one then and take the expiring Canon down to use as needed at the "distillery," until one day I get mad at it and toss it over the bluff. Or, use it for target practice.

Target practice is much more funner.

I still miss my old Canon Bubble Jet printer.
Never had a lick of trouble with it, it was the best printer we've ever owned. -

I hate injections printers. Had one at work that would always need
refills. I use a 12 year old Brother LaserJet at home. I've had the
same toner cartridge in it for 10 years."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson
