I cannot recommend doing business with them any longer. They DEEPLY lowball you when you sell them gear and then forget all about the mass profits they made on you when you are looking to buy something from them, They offer to stand behind a purchase, yes... but the reality is that it is all about max profits on used gear and lack of any sort of support or consideration going forward.
They are nothing more than a pawnshop for audio gear and I am done with them.

I sold them my Simaudio 680d... they made a 15 to 1800 dollar profit on it and then told me to pound sand when I asked for a break on a used power cord. They looked in their computer and said "nope we get that price all day so nope, take a hike". That is not capitalism. Sorry, but do you think any other new/used dealer is any better? They are one of the best I've dealt with. They need profits to keep the doors open and pay staff.

No different than a car dealership. You can trade your car for less hassle and many times less $$$ than if you sell private. Capitalism is getting as much as you can. Someone thought it was worth it. Why didn't you sell on your own?

I read their FAQ and nowhere does it say if they make a big profit on your item they will discount the next item you buy. They worked a little bit with me on some MIT cables I bought. TMR takes on your used gear and provides a warranty behind it and will fix gear at their cost
No different than trading a car in really.
I do agree their direct purchase price is super low and their consignment borders on unreasonable

Sorry about your situation there man, that kinda sucks from your point of view. With buying used, the best you can do is make an offer and if they are good with it great if not, walk away.
I'm finding it difficult to really comment on your situation. I hear you on your stance, and for the most part agree with it. It would be nice to get a nice deal on a power cord when you took a slight bath on your trade in item and they made a nice profit off it. It's really not about that as when I trade in a car at the dealership, they always make a nice profit on my cars due to the way I take care of them. I don't also expect them to cater to me either as this is business and I can always walk out the door without purchasing. It's in their hands to allow you to wheel and deal. Numbers are numbers and if they feel your deal doesn't work for them, It's ok to walk and never shop with them again. I'm with you on that man.
But also understand business is business and numbers are numbers, we all have to make certain numbers to stay in business and if we don't we go out of business. Even making small dealers less profitable can really hurt over time especially how things are today.

TMR is in my backyard so to speak, and so is Aural HiFi, Listen Up, along with a couple others. And as far as record stores, there are many to choose from around the denver area, Twist n Shout, Angelo’s, Wax Trax Records, Sold Out Records, many to choose from. It’s not dead in Colorado..

It depends on what you are buying from the music room, if you can barter or not with them. I bought a power supply for my preamp, and was able to get the price lowered, but it was manufactured from a small company in Canada. If you are trying to barter with them on popular mainstream stuff not so much.

Tmr only owns a small percentage of their gear. Majority is consignment... They are more willing to lower the price if they have owned it a while but with consignment gear their contract is to lower it 1% per week until it sells. (atleast my understanding)- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

They're quite up front with how they operate, including their consignment operation which has a base of 35% including the testing and marketing services they offer, a rewards program, and a make an offer function on Ebay. Ebay approval rating, which is the only experience I have with them, is 99.9% positive.
Their business seems to have been booming the last few years. They also appear to ship to the international market which may increase the competition when new audio costs far more than in the US.

Estate sales are apparently a part of their function, according to their website. In a lot of cases family members aren't going to know what audio gear is worth or value it nearly as much as the departed. Selling a bunch of stuff quickly and painlessly has a value in itself, unfortunately. -
I sold my VPI TT through them on consignment with no issues, I actually preferred going through them, and not dealing with the riff raff of CL, and FB Market Place.
