In the past I've stopped at a Goodwill near me maybe once a month. I used to go more years ago, when you would still find some good media. I bought a couple media items in Dec. for 59¢ each.

On Friday, I stopped for a few minutes as I was at the post office next door, I saw two mint Bartok RCA Red Seal records. I had them in my arm ready to head out. Then I noticed their new media prices sign. I wasn't paying $3.99 each for something that I could easily do without. I didn't buy anything. Records were 59¢ in December.

Many of my most trusted mechanics over the years have insisted it does not do an engine good. My vehicles have gotten better fuel mileage with 100% gas.
I believe the fuel lines, in particular, can be damaged by the more corrosive nature of ethanol. It also retains moisture more readily than petroleum fuel, so that's no beuno as well...for obvious reasons.

Ethanol is hygroscopic by nature, but at 10% conc. in petrol it won't absorb much H2O. The problem with leaving in engines stagnant over long periods is it contributes to the formation of organic acids that eat at everything, especially pot alloy carbeurator bowls.

A lot of the fellows on the snowblower forum I'm a member of also get uptight about ethanol gas for whatever reason. In my case I buy 50 gallons of my small engine gas once every 18 months-2 years. It's 87 octane and probably has ethanol; I'm not sure as I don't check but it is the cheapest grade of gas I can get. I treat each 5 gallon can with an ounce to a gallon of seafoam or walmart's version which is about half the price as soon as I get home. All my small engines (boat, lawnmower, pressure washer, generator, snowblower) start right up settle into a normal idle and I've never once drained a carb or had any issues in the 15-20 years I've been doing this. I did have the bowl off the blower last year to change the main jet and there's no corrosion in there after 11 years. Nope; I don't buy the ethanol gas is bad nonsense.

My snowblower's engine warranty would have been void if it needed engine service under warranty and was found to have used ethanol infused gasoline.

The last several small engine tools I bought all stated 90+ octane 100% gas was preferred in the owners manual.
If not 100% gas no more than 10% ethanol. There's a lot of states that they're starting to sell 15% or higher ethanol content gas.
Also around here the 85% ethanol gas, could be 85% ethanol or 85% gas or any combination between those two numbers. There is only a 20 cent difference between 85% ethanol and 10% ethanol gas. It used to be like 40 or 50 cents difference.

Ethanol IMO should be illegal. Buying gas should only involve pure gasoline.

I love ethanol! Especially with pomegranate and Ginger Ale. As for fuel preservation, just use Startron fuel treatment. That elimates the negative effects of alcohol in pump gas.

I had to check my Honda blower manual. Seems I'm fine as long it's 10% ethanol.
