Iconic coffee made in Jacksonville for a century is getting a new name

With “nearly a third (of Americans) opting to rent versus purchase a home,” according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the brand says it’s aiming to help today’s consumer, who faces rising coffee and home prices, save with affordable coffee.

BREWING CHANGE: Iconic coffee brand Maxwell House is getting a major name rebrand for the first time in its 133-year history, in an effort to help Americans save up to buy a home.
'Maxwell Apartment' will offer a 12-month “lease” on coffee, designed to keep java lovers stocked as prices continue to skyrocket. The brand says the rebrand is temporary.

To celebrate National Coffee Day, which was on Sept. 29, the brand is offering customers a 12-month “lease” of Maxwell Apartment, designed to stock up coffee lovers nationwide — four 27.5-ounce canisters of Maxwell Apartment coffee for $39.99. (For context, a single, 27.5-ounce canister of Maxwell House coffee is about $13 on Amazon.)

Along with what the brand is calling a “full year of coffee,” the bundle of rebranded canisters, which is available on Amazon, will come with an official Maxwell Apartment “lease” to sign.

Of course... ahem... we all know that @Viking64 meant to type openly baffling...

I mean... it's really no wonder we won the Space Race! Those hunchbacked Soviets were all hunched over their commie hifis with crystal pickups and chockablock with Rooskie vacuum tubes, spinning those decadent X-ray LPs laced with American jazz music... Danged Redskis didn't stand a chance.

I am not big fan of either extremes of the spectrum when it comes to music. On one end is rap, on the other? Opera.

While I can appreciate both for the talent, experience and training they must go through, I simply do not enjoy the music and don't believe I ever will.

Yeah, Hamilton sells out everywhere to all those lower class Broadway fans. Music is a continuous evolution. The best comes from melding different genres into a new sound.

Those Saab two stroke cars always sounded weird.
First saw them on the road in the mid 70's
Damn ugly cars, kinda like a vw bug with more pronounced curves.
They were pretty much tin cans.

Hey Tom, combine the two and you've created a new genre....
    Rapera?
    Op-Rap?
    Rapop?

Now that's something I would NEVER need to hear!

I used to have a very similar view Tom. However, the “evolution” of rap music has pushed it into a category where I now don’t recognize any talent whatsoever in its production.

Late 80’s - early 90’s rap did have a level of talent associated with it, even if it never really was my thing. New rap on the other hand is completely devoid of any talent. They all seem to use the same trap beat, and they all seem to be saying the same crap. It amazes me when young people can differentiate between different rappers by listening to their “songs”.
