I do find it amusing how Rob Reiner became the real-life adult version of his character on All In the Family…

Frank listening to Altec Lansing speakers:

Most of that generation heard themselves in or near the studio/control room that way.
I will say that the recordings monitored, mixed, or mastered on Altecs do sound very good indeed when played back on Altecs. B)
EDIT: And a little beyond that generation, too

Ohh how I envy him being able to sit and listen like that. All but impossible for me as far back as I can remember.

That pic reminded of me of the time I ran an airline through a media wall plate (via bulkhead fitting) for the air bearing tonearm. I had help. Every now and then Jasper would put the bite on the hose at the wall and I'd have to shorten the hose a few inches. No air pressure no air bearing.

    btog4vou2vp4.jpg

I had to cover the LAN cable going to the TV in the living room too. He only messed with the wires on this wall plate. Maybe he didn't like the air noise in the tubing.

Absolutely. Not too many weeks ago a guy in a mask asked me to step back at least 6' while standing in a checkout line. I laughed straight at his face, AND stood right where I was at.
