I have an original hammer and sickle flag. I haven't flown it in a while.
It's not like I can just go out and buy another, 😂😂
I "have" a Soviet army belt buckle given to me by someone I knew in college who went to Russia on a trip with her parents back before it was a common thing to do. I... umm... don't know where it is any more.

I feel like this belongs here:
Last day of school for my kids was yesterday. My younger daughter and my niece had a sleepover at my home to kick off summer.
They decided that they wanted to build a “tent” in the living room out of sheets.
They grabbed the sheets and also grabbed my clamps to hold the sheets.
Well, my niece clamped one of the sheets to…
MY DAMN TV!
So, now a 65” Sony OLED is now on the way to my home to replace the destroyed TV.

Don't lie... you put her up to it so you could finally get a new TV with the wife's blessings.
Normally, a stunt like that wouldn’t be completely outside the realm of possible for me.
However, the ink had barely dried on the agreement for my to buy a new SUV that same afternoon, I was already in zero mood to spend more money. -
My youngest brother is a commercial plumber, so he stopped by the house with his truck to collect the old TV.
He is going to bring it to the recycling center for me.
He couldn’t stop chuckling, hauling it out of the house with me.
Far clarity, it wasn’t his kid that did it.
It was our other brothers kid. That brother has always been a notorious screw up. Lovable, but a screw up.
It seems like the apple might not have fallen far from that tree.

In all actuality? I am sorry this happened to you. Family is one life's pleasures (especially in the case of mine), but they can also be a curse. It is what it is.

Honestly, at this point it’s just something to laugh over.
There was blind rage for about 5 seconds, then just a wave of defeat and acceptance that I need to start shopping for a new TV
I’m thankful that I can absorb it and just replace it. Too many out there that just would’ve been completely screwed, and now they just don’t have a TV.

Yup and I feel equally stupid for buying one of those contraptions. I'd have to say it was a downgrade from the flip phone it replaced at the time. -
That's a rather funny lookin' Crown Vic.

This punctuation mark is semi-dead

the semicolon was introduced in 1494 by Venetian printer and publisher Aldus Manutius.
But now the semicolon is dead. Or semi-dead. Its use has collapsed, as underlined last month by a study from Babbel, an online language-learning platform. “Semicolon usage in British English books has fallen by nearly 50% in the past two decades,” the survey said — and this sudden drop followed a steady decline across the past two centuries.
A study of semicolon use in U.S. publishing from 1920 to 2019 saw a similarly dramatic slide. Newspapers, magazines, and fiction and nonfiction books all soured on the semicolon, though nonfiction after 2000 did see an uptick from the depths."Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"Harry / Marietta GA
