Since I just listened to Dylan, why not some
    Leonard Cohen.

After seeing SIHAB mention this last week, I had to dig it out of the dusty collection of my 80s rock collection (and rip to the server). First listen in 35 years...dang! Such a talent, especially when you read this background about the recording.

More early 80s. Imagine hearing this at the age of 13. Hooked instantly!
    pkz9iz0bqxal.jpg
Note: this is a terrible recording. None of the versions on CD are worth a crap. I had the tape back then and played it mostly on a Toshiba boombox... that thing got me in trouble with the neighbors often. Not sure if the vinyl was any better.

You couldn't avoid this between 1985-1987.
I swear, it was MTV's #1 for what seemed like a year.

Enough of the 80$...the 90s are when music exploded for me. I appreciate it all, but I have more favorites in the 90s by far.

    Another 1990 gem.
This song alone...has to be heard.
Ok, more spoken word, but really unique.

    Kayak • Starlight Dancer
    Janus Records

The North American release is very different from the original Dutch/European release with the same title. In fact it is a compilation of songs from Starlight Dancer and their previous album The Last Encore (1976). The American record company, Janus Records, used the title Starlight Dancer but the sleeve design of The Last Encore.

Sounds nice and crankable. Just a few spots of sibilance on Geddy's voice...
