It's about time! Thank you sir!
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
For everyone who thought this would sound exactly like Steely Dan...
You weren't wrong 😁

Steely imitation wasn't worth finishing.
This, was one of my first SACDs, back when BMG sold them cheap.
I didn't appreciate it at first, but Elton's recordings were pretty freaking awesome 👍

Elton's SACD's are phenomenal. When I first got my super audio CD player I did the same, I bought every SACD I could of Elton's. I never listened to any of his music or had any of it on CD or vinyl previously to my SACD purchases.
At $8 a SACD it was a no brainer back when the sacd's started coming out. My second purchase was Aerosmith's toys in the Attic, that thing is worth a small mint now. -
Some may recognize this song...
Used as an "Intro" for some sporting events or at the beginning of big blitzy movie scenes.
Amazing dynamics. Not a fan of the whole album, but the intro song is a blast!

Ok, I'm hitting the Radom Selection feature from Daphile...
I freaking love this from 1990. Right smack in my rebellious college days. Not appreciated by as many as they deserved. (This is a whole album experience)

Ok. Had to hit the time-line rewind and hear the earlier album. Sonically not as good, but this is where my live for PWEI started...
In the gap years between 80s metal,-New-Wave and Grunge-Gangsta Rap 🤣

That's another SACD I grabbed for less than $10 back when BMG was dumping them. Another fine recording from Elton. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -

Every song on this album excels.
Saw him when I was young. Saw him a few years ago when both of us were older+, and the concert was one of the best concerts I have experienced. What a performer!First time in two years posting in part 1 or part deux."Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"

I gave that a listening a few nights ago.
Ended up reading a bunch about the band. Didn't realize the dude was an MIT engineer grad that made his own effects and started a tech company making pro audio electronics. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
That Tom Scholtz guitar sound was new and he could play. Didn't he come up with a lot of this in his
basement or something. (Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Guitar [Special Effects], Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Organ, Clavinet, Percussion) Got to see them at the Richfield Coliseum in 1977. The drummer wore black leather gloves, had a huge fro, (Sib Hashian) and put on a show. I'm trying to remember
who opened. Was it Jay Ferguson? I think so.

Man, this was special to me as a kid (born '70). My parents had this on quad LP. They didn't really have a quad system but it was still great. I remember being lost in this.

Holland pressing from 1978. Needs ultra sonically cleaned to get rid of
the few ticks on it. From memory, I like it better that the ABKCO DSD CD.
