    Thursday Morning
Woke up yesterday morning at 5:30 AM with temperature at 18 degrees outside with strong winds.
It was really cold inside. The furnace had gone out.
Called heating and air company that I have used for about 40 years at 7:45 AM. A familiar voice answered and said "Someone will be there at 10:00".
He and a colleague arrived at 9:35 to determine problem.
They left and returned at 10:30 to install new furnace fan. Everything installed and working by 11:00 AM.

    Today Friday Morning
Woke up this morning at 5:30 AM with temperature less than 18 degrees outside again with strong winds.
    Warm as TOAST!

It's a good feeling to know there are people who do things right.

Well, it looks like South East America will need to brace for a series of storms today. Two fronts will apparently merge, along with a jet stream in the upper atmosphere, all going different directions......with a plethora of moisture being fed in from the Gulf of America.

Reports so far looks like GA (most of the state) will bear the brunt of this. They are calling for multiple tornado outbreaks, with a predicted long land times for each of the tornadoes. It's basically got the bones for "the perfect storm", and all models are not showing any signs of relief or a way to thwart the scenario.

We shall see, but for the SE? Should be an interesting 24 hours.

Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama are all dealing with it now. Two deaths already have been confirmed and apparently the Ozarks have already gotten pummeled......and now that the sun is up, it will only intensify. This is also only the first band.

The storms are reaching from the Gulf all the way up to the Great Lakes.

Unfortunately, there are now 14 deaths associated with this outbreak...and we haven't even seen the worst yet. One report stated that debris was as high as 10 to 20 thousand feet up in the air.

Our area seems to be out of the major concern area, but we were just upgraded from a threat level of 2 to 3 a short while ago. It should hit our area sometime around 7 in the morning tomorrow.

If you have family and friends in the path of this storm system, make sure that they are okay and that they stay safe. The damage is widespread, and this looks to be one for the history books.....not likely to be forgotten by many any time soon.

I feel we have been lucky so far. The strong storm parts were west and north of Wilmington NC..

South Burgaw had a tornado they said. the site is about 20 miles or less north of us.

March 17th it was a beautiful 83°, today March 19th 60+ mph winds, and so far 5"-7" of wet snow, low visibility, outages, blizzard warnings! Not fun!

Good grief! Today is a beautiful day in upstate South Kakalackie! In fact, I am outside, sitting on the front porch as I type this, enjoying the weather.

So, that tornado outbreak? Looks like it claimed the life of 42 people. RIP Americans.
