Speaker Gaskets - The best to use in 2025

Options
Hi Guys,
I did some searching and alot comes up about gaskets, paper, Mortite, use of weatherstripping, various posts of people using other things.
Didnt seem to be a clear winner.

I have two pair of my 1988 built Monitor 11Ts apart to get the crossovers to Trey and I'd like to put in all fresh gaskets when I put them back together.
(I also just ordered hurricane nuts and bolts for them).

Personally my gut says I think I'd like to just put in all new factory gaskets if they are available, they did an amazing job for 37 years from 1988 until now.

What say you is the best option "Now".

Thanks
Jimmy P

The clear winner is the original gaskets. Unless they are torn/damaged do not replace. They are supposed to be paper thin.

If one or more need replacement due to damage the gasket stuff at Parts Express is good enough. There are no factory gaskets available.

Under no circumstance should you use Mortite.

    Thanks Guys.
So my gut as a car guy was to replace all gaskets, but if you guys say if they are not torn leave it.
I dont think any of mine were damaged on removal was I'll just put the stockers right back in.

Very good intel on burning a hole vs just pushing the screw through if I had to make new gaskets.

Thanks for the continuing education (and enabling LOL).

^ Was in the same way of thinking after acquiring my sda srs speakers, thought the gaskets should be replaced or upgraded.
f1, in his subtle way, convinced me to stay with the thin originals.
They seal up great, stay with them if not damaged.
