React - is it on ?

Hi..newbie question

React is connected to TV hdmi ARC. If I turn on TV for first time in morning, there is no sound. Do I have to turn on soundbar? So I press power button and TV button on polk remote but still no sound. I then turn TV off and on and then I hear sound and all is OK. What's going on?

    His response:

    "This may be a bad HDMI cable so have him connect the bar using the optical cable to test the bar.
    If this does not work, please have him contact cs support and if under warranty we can send a new bar at no charge."
