I guess if you have that kind of money to afford it, why not right? I think it's kinda ugly in it's design.
The specs and built quality seems pretty top notch.Dan

It looks like a part from the TARDIS
-
Looks like something Emotiva might build. 😳
Maybe it looks better in reality, but those control buttons on the front are not particularly elegant. In fact, the Marantz SACD 30n looks more polished (pun intended) IMO, and that costs a mere $3K.
Alea jacta est! -
Do you know if they make just a transport of this calibre?
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Technical Audio Devices (TAD) makes a two channel amp, a disc player, and preamp in their Reference line. Looks like the D700 is $62K or $63K in the US market. No standalone DAC.

Wow have not heard the word emotiva in such a long time. -

I suspect someone who could afford the disc player would also just go ahead and purchase the matching amp and preamp too for their third home and never actually use them. -

How does one become a TAD distributor / salesperson??
-
There are half a dozen US brick and mortar dealers listed on the TAD website that are well established for successfully carrying and selling for a bunch of high end brands. One is just a few miles from me but I haven't visited there for a few years.
