My family's repurposed several old radio/TV cabinets. It's worth the effort. I wouldn't pay 100 smackers for it, that's too much.

If the veneer is actually wood, and not that weird paper stuff that was popular to make faux fine furniture in the '30s and '40s... I could see paying a hunnert smackers for it -- even though it's naught but an old TV set cabinet.
Plus, you know, there's the Chevy Chase markup.
