Recent Covid experience

Options

It seems that this is the time of the year when I have health issues. December 2016, carotid artery rotor router…November 2020, widow maker heart attack and 4 stints put in.

Tuesday, November 22, 2022 - not certain what happened. My daughter found me sitting about halfway down the stairs hanging on to the railing very tightly, out of my mind. I didn’t know who she was or who my wife was. I also didn’t know who my oldest daughter was at the hospital.

They called an ambulance and I was taken to the local hospital about 8:00 am, held there until about 8:00 pm and then flown to Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville. I was told that I looked very scared and was very combative. I don’t remember anything until I woke up on Sunday 11/27/22.

I had several doctors working on me and a “team” of neurologists. I was told that I had a perfect storm of covid, flu, and pneumonia. That doesn’t seem like a reason to not be able to remember several days to me though. Everything that they checked was good including brain activity while I was “out”. No strange drugs on the drug test, just my normal medications.

At this point I still have more questions than answers.

However, I do feel blessed that God spared my life once again. Another miracle. I very much appreciate all of the prayers while my family and I were going through this. 💕🙏

Jeez Billy! Really glad to hear you're doing okay for the most part overall.

Did any of it feel dream-like or did they mention anything about it maybe being due to prolonged low blood-ox or anything like that?

    Keep getting better, man.

Really didn’t get any answers that made sense. I have no memory at all from Tuesday until Sunday when they took the tube out. Don’t remember being intubated either. Just had the worst sore throat ever.

That’s quite the cocktail of flu, COVID, and pneumonia. That seems like it could have the potential to really mess you up. That’s crazy.

Glad to hear you’re on the mend.

Can happen with encephalopathy. Basically your body is trying so hard to survive, systems shut down temporarily.

I have seen several flu plus covid plus pneumonia cases. It’s not impossible.
