Malaphors

Do you know what one is?

I'm not the brightest crayon in the tool drawer but I know what one is!

Didn't even have to look it up!

Don't feel bad if you did. It's not rocket surgery but it's not sensibly common either.

So if you know what one is, go ahead and share it. Or don't, whatever. We'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

In all honesty, I merely posted this because I thought it'd make Doc Hardy chuckle.

In forums, or chats most are guilty
As long as you don’t do it in your professional position
Except with other colleagues passing notes. It’s like shorthand imho

well, the thread title was certainly clickbait for me @jstas! :)
I do not know what it is. Sounds like a misguided metaphor (malapropism/metaphor hybrid).
The New Yorker used to publish truly fractured metaphors under the heading Block that Metaphor! :)

I will have to look it up. :/

"Malaphors" -That’s like a bunghole with taste buds - it just doesn’t make sense....it sounds about as confused as a **** in a fan factory....

However, this could be pure genius because curiosity will kill the cat and make this thread busier'n a whorehouse on nickle night.

I use malaphors often. It really burns up the kids goats!

They tell me it doesn't make any sense but I tell them anyway, hey, whatever floats yer biscuits!

They get frustrated and walk away but, you know, it's no sweat off my duck's back!

I needed a chart to make sense of it all. This one hits the nail out of the park.

My first Cheech & Chong movie was The Corsican Brothers that my dad was watching while my mom was outta town. I can't remember if he let us watch it, or yelled at us and said, "Get outta here! This isn't for kids!"

"All I can see is your..." - that's the first C&C line I remember :D

Thanks for the chart of malaphors and ducks of a similar color. Now it's clear as goose grease.

When I first saw the thread title, I figured it was an @mhardy6647 old-English thing.
Had to look it up admittedly, because the only Olde-English I studied in high school came in a 40oz...
