    I use scissors and a lighter, is not actually carbon fiber but looks like it.

    Roger on that. I knew at one time I bought some that frayed really badly. The next time I bought some I spent a little more and it cut clean and didn't want to come apart as easily as the cheaper stuff I had bought. A little adhesive shrink tubing and it worked very well. The cheaper stuff if you got a heat gun close to it, it just melted before the shrink tubing shrunk and it would start fraying at the edge of the shrink tubing. I discarded the rest of it I had.

    I used to heat up an old sharp knife to cut the Tech Flex, worked perfectly. I now use a rope cutting hot knife. It's a blade device attached to a heavy duty soldering gun. Same result, just easier.

    Edit: this is a good source for Tech Flex and a bunch of other stuff.
