    Bathroom sounds = resonances at mid-bass frequencies

    Sounds about right although fortunately I've never heard my speakers produce sounds like that.

    Synonym -- most of John Lennon's recorded vocals post-Beatles. :) And, no, I am not being snarky. His solo recordings' vocals usually sounded like they were made in a bathroom... a particularly echo-y one at that. :p

    What about 'flabby" as in the bass just sounded like someone hitting the back of a sofa with a dirty sock full of (insert appropriate filler).

    You've apparently never spent much time listening to the Klipsch "Heritage" loudspeakers.
    They do honk -- and shriek.
