Monitor 10 tweeter replacement

Just wondering if anyone knew what tweeter this is. I have had these for a while and love them. Is it possible to find a direct replacement?

That is the absolutely worst looking Peerless I've ever seen. You're also missing two screws.

Do you live by the ocean?

I had some 1C's and smaller Polk bookshelfs in climate controlled storage, pro moving company contracted by military on the east coast, while we lived in Germany. Stored for 4 years along w/smaller Polk's.

Not to the extent of the OP's tweets but I had similar happening to Larry's rings and the panhead screws on the 1C's. Not the smaller speaks. Difference between the sets of speakers was the rope caulk (can't remember the commercial name, too lazy to look up). I came to the conclusion it was the caulk putty. Removed it and replaced w/an Armacell gasket. No problems since.

I've seen a few other posts with this problem and it helped reinforce my conclusion that there's something in the caulk that becomes a catalyst for metal corrosion. FWIW, no 12 step analysis process studies conducted, just a hunch but will never use it again....for this and other documented reasons.

Yes I know I took them out to look on the back. Funny thing is they were working like that for years. I will take a picture of the other side. Hawaii is not kind to electronics.

Well, it's just metal. A little vinegar could be a start, a full disassembly / stripping / sanding / priming / painting could be a solution.

Good deal and then you could disassemble and clean up your OEM ones. I think black oxide Grade 8 Button Heads are the way to go for screws. What vintage are the replacements?

Coincidentally I just scored 6 1978 vintage NOS open box 8 Ohm Peerless on eBay. 4 of them are the typical rectangular bezels and 2 have round. They have to be Danish.

I'll be the first to admit they are a little rough looking, bordering on museum pieces lol. Unfortunately most of the ID #'s are pretty illegible. They measure between 7.0 and 7.7 Ohms. I think these are different years. Best one is the 7.65Ohm #25143577. Two of the others are #451422?? and the 4th is completely illegible.

This is the one in the lower left above. Sticky tape restoration method. May be some hope for these and my $53 investment.

It was a very thin double sided tape of unknown manufacturer. Been in my kitchen drawer for many years. 2" wide, 0.002" thick (0.006" with release paper). I cut it into 1/4" wide strips which I folded back on themselves (release paper still on) and worked that into the area between the convolute and the dome and all over the dome and outside the convolute. Takes a lot of patience and it will adhere like gangbusters to the fragile dome if you are not careful so only use a small area of the tape at any time. Keep making a fresh fold to maintain stickiness and cut a fresh piece often.

These domes must've been very sticky at one time to have so much stuff stuck on and some knucklehead must've stored them with the box lids open and the domes facing up, is all I can think of.
