    Workers, workers, ugh. Trying to get workers to pay attention to the garage has been a challenge for sure. It's basically boiled down to the general contractor, and his right hand man, slowly moving along.

    We had a come to Jesus meeting a week ago and essentially told him he's fired unless he gets the interior of the garage and breezway finished before the end of the year.

    I get it, he's short staffed, had other jobs, etc., but it's been over a year since we broke ground! For the amount of money we've spent, we need some more love!

    So when the workers pushed the monster toolbox back into the garage after 10 days of curing (I wanted to be absolutely sure), they forgot to unlock the center wheel and it dragged, scratching the shite of my new floor! Epoxy guy is coming tomorrow to re-scuff and apply new clearcoat over 2 quadrants, courtesy of my general contractor!

    Doorwall installed, but needs to be replaced. Pella came over today and the top of the frame is about 1/2" longer than the bottom! You can see it if you look, bottom pic, upper right hand corner. Pella? Really?

    You can also see the scratch in the floor!

    I decided to install a switch for the attic mounted air compressor. Being in the attic quiets it down a lot, but not for audio loving folks all of a sudden having the compressor kick on! While on, I'm getting low level structure born noise throughout the garage. You can feel it in the walls.

    The switch has a red pilot light, but I decided to add something fun, the Sinclair globe lamp turns on when the compressor circuit has power!

    Now I can turn the circuit off when I'm enjoying the music. And on only when I need it. And at a glance know if it's on or not!

    I'm glad you can start to fill it with your stuff the way you want.

    Remember the old saying...somebody just posted it the other day...

    If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

    That scuff line in the floor didn't have to happen. They had six wheels to check, SIX. :s

    I'm glad your heater passed inspection so you can start your decorating in there.

    Love that floor!

    Oh, and that patio door...didn't the guys putting it in notice the door didn't square up to that side?

    I've installed a few and probably would've caught that. :D It's a shame you had a lot on your mind this past year and couldn't over-see their work as much as you probably would've liked to.

    That door issue of yours is something very similar I just experienced 2 nights ago. I just so happened to see a reflection on my main baths' sliding tub doors frames being different. One was skewed. My wife accidently pulled on the top runner bar a few days ago. I fixed it. At least I thought I did. Anyway, I had to rehang one of the doors' rollers back to that top rail. Both doors are now hanging parallel to each other again. :D

    The guys who poured our driveway got the road end 1' narrower in a 20' run. I had to work and didn't notice their framing when I stopped by at lunchtime when I could. It rained that afternoon after they finished pouring and they covered it with plastic. They came to get paid the next day. I thought they were doing a good enough job, so I paid them without seeing the finished job. My mistake.

    I then pulled the plastic off later that night or so and saw that BS. They said they lost money doing my drive and would not give me any cash back.

    I should've framed it myself, huh. ;)
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    Thanks Tony! Having to threaten the contractor took a bit of joy out of the whole project, but he's been moving the past couple of weeks now. We'll see if he keeps it up!

    Let me know. I put nLight in my house when I built 8 years ago. Not really an architectural dimming system. More for commercial/energy management, great for a garage and it has been rock solid. Those fixtures are 0-10v dimmable. Can definitely be tied into nLight for dimming control. Lmk if you need guidance. 🤘🏻
