I actually have their dac on order to try. Very curious, very nice part selection and you can actually roll capacitors as well as tubes

That is a cool little tube pre! I noticed it also has adjustable gain (via dip switches) to match power amp needs, and can accept 6SN7 tubes with an adaptor.

But really, who rolls capacitors??? :D:p

It's easy with the cylinder shaped ones.
In fact, sometimes they put 'em in little stands so they won't roll...

Pro tip: the ones shaped like this don't roll nearly as well.

Their DAC is the first piece of equipment in two decades I have paid full asking retail price, brand new. Very excited to try it out and roll in caps and such...

The MP pre is an option but wondering how long it would take to arrive. . I have also been considering the Rogue RP1 and Schiit Freya plus.

I wonder how full of PCB's that thing is? Did you need to sign a hazardous waste certificate ?

Sir would you recommend the cap upgrade for the 200 or so? Or save that money for nicer tubes.

If it were me I'd go with stock caps and then down hmthe road try clarity csa or cmr. Maybe even roll in some pio, like my flex or duelund. Lots of great caps out there

I have a Conrad Johnson PV14 (with Mullard tubes)......I'd be inclined to part with. I bought it a few months ago and haven't even opened the box. I'm kinda leaning in a different direction now (it was an impulse purchase)

I paid 1200 for it (from a CJ dealer so it's been checked out w/clean bill of health) and would sell it for same.......and ship on my dime. It has the original manual and remote and probably a generic power cord.
