Wohhhh! those turned out nice!
What kind of paint did you use?
Curious to see the finished product.
Were you torn at all on whether to keep the front baffles black? Guess it doesn't matter when you could just slap the grills on if you want.
Cheers, I guess I knew I wanted to have all-white LSiM703s. I seem to have lost the grills but if I had them, I'd swap the grill cloth to white as well.
Those look pretty cool! Did you take them to an auto body shop or so it yourself? I would also like to see them reassembled...
Cheers. An acquaintance of mine runs an audio restoration shop, so he painted the speakers for me. This is his second speaker restoration job for me with the first project being the beautiful, better than new restoration of my LSi9s.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant
Those are nice! The first thing that comes to mind are the white Signature Series products available in Europe. The white really accentuates the curves of the LSiM and makes them a little more appealing than the Sig.

A good friend of mine videocalled last week and asked me if I could give him an advice or two on bookshelf speakers. I mistakingly pointed at the white LSiM703 beauties as an example of really good sounding and well built spea... "Good! Pack them real nice and send them over, 'cause I'm buying them!!! Lucky me!".
Damn! Not only I would not want to sell anything to my friend, but also I wouldn't want to part with the 703s!!! Sigh. I'll have to look for another pair then.
Anyway, back to the crossover. The further it all goes, the more I tend to appreciate the great job Polk engineers did with the neat and nice stock crossovers! I know I should have recapped the crossovers and leave it be but hey I had an itch indeed.
So I present you the HF and MF crossover section.
I think I'll call it Liebherr this time. Gosh, Polk engineers did a great job indeed!

You should take some up-close pics of the interior of those cabinets while they're open and post them for anyone that wants to see their construction.

I wish I knew. But the guy knows his job indeed.
Recapping might make your speakers' internals look differently, so why not.
Here's my idea of a rebuilt LSiM703 LF crossover:
It does look seriously awkward if you ask me. I'll name it Tsar 'WTF' Tank.

Here's the original Liebherr:
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time.

I chose to have two different crossover implementations out of curiosity. I'll measure both speakers and report here once done.
