@nancyisthebesttony Your messages to members have been going to the Activity Wall. To send a direct message to a member, left click on the username of the person you want to contact. That takes you to that person's profile page. Don't write in the text box, that goes to the Activity Wall. Once on the person's profile page, select "Message" in the upper right corner, that will send a direct message to that person. Vanilla's message service is very confusing to new users.
