Sigma 2 Soundbar remote control issue

Just installed Sigma 2 Soundbar. Works perfectly using front control buttons. Remote is problematic. Sometimes changes volume, sometimes does not. Changed batteries. Connected using HDMI and Optical to Samsuing 43" Q Series brand new TV. Setup issue? Or bad remote?

If your TV is equipped with HDMI ARC (and it's been activated) any remote that controls the TV should control the soundbar.
